Deaf Festival is Going to be EPIC!

Apr 09, 2026
Connect

As some of you know, the annual Deaf Festival is an event that not only brings the Colorado Deaf and signing community together, but it also provides us with a space to be ourselves, meet new friends, catch up with old ones, and have fun using our natural language. I love having the honor of being a part of the event for the last two years, and the third one is coming up in a little over a week!

Come on down to Rocky Mountain Deaf School between 11 and 3 pm to get some desserts from The Sassy Baker AND support other local Deaf businesses. There will also be an ASL slam and a Baby Slam for families with young children.

I also wanted to announce the menu for the Deaf Festival 2026!

Coffee Brownies

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Blondies

Oreo Blondies

Gluten Free Oreo Blondies

Gluten Free Butterscotch Blondies

Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Hope to see you there!

Another Announcement: On April 16th, The Sassy Baker will be part of a Deaf Panel at Front Range Community College! This is an event for ASL students, Deaf community members and anyone who wants to learn about Deaf culture. Come check it out! The event is from 2:45 - 6 but the panel starts at 5 pm.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
Did I get your attention or did you scrunch your nose up? HAHA I did make some banana chocolate chip muffins this week (I just needed to use the ripe bananas before they were too far gone to do anything with them). It's funny...I like eating bananas, but baked goods or juice with banana in it- no thanks! My roommates are tearing up the banana bread I made earlier.  They smell very bananaey! Ma...
Build Your Own Cheesecake Jar Success!
Thank you to those who came to our first (I think we should make this event annual) Build Your Own Cheesecake Jar workshop! We had a blast! I was worried I wouldn't have enough ingredients/options, but I brought more than enough! I got fresh fruit from 5280 Produce in northern Denver, Andes mints, Oreos, graham crackers, and a variety of sprinkles. Check out the pictures from the event below! ...
