Spring Break Bakes!

Mar 26, 2026

I baked so many delicious things last week during spring break. One of them didn't turn out as good-looking as I hoped, but practice makes perfect! I wanted to share with my Newsletter Sassy Bakers!

Order of pictures: pretzels (salted and cinnamon/sugar), Oreo Truffles, Blood Orange Poppyseed Muffins, French Macarons)

I made these using oat flour instead of traditional almond flour because my dad is allergic and have a few friends who are allergic too so I want to make sure they can eat these. If you have any tips for me for making French Macarons using oat flour, let me know!

I also did some experimenting with coffee brownies and according to those I gave them too, they were incredibly delicious! So I will take that as a sign that I should make them for the Deaf Festival next week! I'm not a coffee person so I only took a small bite.

Build Your Own Cheesecake Jar Workshop

There are three ticket types: $30 for those who want to bring their own jars; $40 for those who want a sassy-provided jar; and $100 for a family/group of 4 who bring their own jars. Disclaimer: I do have to wait until...

At the end of my trip, I also got the chance to go to New England's Deaf Expo! So overwhelming. When there are a lot of people, I tend to get nervous and anxious. My mom graciously came with me even though she has NOT been practicing her ASL. Once I...
Don't Ask Deaf People If We Can Lipread...Just Don't.
As many of you know, I started a series a few months ago titled, "Things I Wish Hearing People Would Stop Saying." I got great responses on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. I posted one of them on LinkedIn last month, and that video was flooded with comments, too! I am so glad people are responding well to them. Last week, I uploaded a video about hearing people asking if we can lipread. This ...
