Don't Ask Deaf People If We Can Lipread...Just Don't.

As many of you know, I started a series a few months ago titled, "Things I Wish Hearing People Would Stop Saying." I got great responses on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. I posted one of them on LinkedIn last month, and that video was flooded with comments, too! I am so glad people are responding well to them.

Last week, I uploaded a video about hearing people asking if we can lipread. This is such a common misconception. A friend of mine had asked me why I thought this was such a common thought, and I was stumped for a second. I honestly think it has to do with A.G. Bell and the Dark Ages of the Deaf Community. Do you have any thoughts as to why? Comment on this post or reply to this email.

I uploaded this one to YouTube yesterday.

A friend of mine, who is also a Deaf baker, recomended I try her white chocolate ganache next time. OOOOHHHHH! Can't wait! I a...
